John Read - Chairman

John Read

John is a chartered electrical engineer and a fellow of the IETF with over 40 years experience in the semiconductor industry. After a career as Technical Director then P&L Manager with Texas Instruments and subsequently GEC Plessey Semiconductors he began working with start-ups in 2000. Currently he is also Chairman of Cyan Holdings plc (AIM listed), UltraSoc, Si-Light Technologies and the advisory board of the Iceni Challenge Fund.

Philippe Dewost
Philippe has more than 15 years of industry experience: in telecommunication and internet services as a co-founder of Orange France Telecom's Wanadoo internet operations; in startup environments as VP Business Development with Ukibi, Inc. in Paris and New York; and in larger business operations in the consumer market as he ran Orange France Telecom Devices Business Unit for fixed line and broadband, with responsibility over an 8 digit P&L.
His passion for digital imaging started with the Apple QuickTake 100 when he was working in Cupertino on the Newton. It matured during his previous experience with Realeyes3D, an award winning player in mobile imaging applications and services for camera phones, where he served as VP Marketing then took the responsibility for the company's european operations as deputy MD. Philippe drove the launch of the Qipit mobile copy service, as well as the deployment of Realeyes3D's OEM applications (picture messaging, motion detection, ...) in dozen of millions of mobile handsets.

Graham Finlayson - Chief Scientist & Founder

Graham Finlayson

Graham lectures in the school of Computing Sciences at the University of East Anglia (UEA) where he has been a professor since 1999. At UEA Graham directs both the Computer Vision & Graphics Library and the Colour Research Group. Graham is the founder of the technology behind imsense. He has published a number of journal and conference papers and is regularly invited to talk at conferences and academic institutions. Graham’s current research interests include dynamic range compression & conversion, the automated removal of shadows in images, photometric invariance, and the application of computational techniques to the understanding of human vision.


Robert Swann - Director

Robert Swann

Robert is an experienced entrepreneur with a proven track record in marketing, business development, investment fundraising and technical management. He also has hands-on engineering experience in semiconductor, image/video/cellular and consumer electronics.He was Co-Founder of Alphamosaic Ltd, a semiconductor company which was sold to Broadcom for $125M in 2004. After leaving Broadcom, Robert founded n++ Ltd and work with a number of early-stage venture companies, he is also a Board Member of the East of England Development Agency.
